Fiverr fees for sellers answer one question: how much of an order is left. How Fiverr payments work answers the next one: when that amount can leave Fiverr. What Fiverr is and how it works covers Gigs and orders. The 80% and the 14 days named there are the start of the path from a buyer's payment to a bank.
This applies to a completed order on a seller account. It does not apply to a buyer who is only paying for a Gig. A buyer adds a card. A seller adds a way to take money out. Those are different screens, and the sections below keep them apart.
Do you have to pay to use Fiverr
Do you have to pay to use Fiverr depends on which action is meant. Opening an account does not require a subscription. Fiverr's seller help, checked on 1 November 2026, says the freelancer receives 80% of the client's cleared payment. The other 20% is the seller fee, and it comes out of a completed order, not out of a monthly bill.
Other costs sit outside that 20%:
Some new freelancers pay a one-time fee to finish ID verification. Fiverr's ID verification page says the fee covers the verification partner, and it does not publish one amount. The figure on the verification step is the charge. Fiverr's Kickstart help page says the $15-a-month Seller Plus Kickstart plan includes ID verification. Fiverr's Seller Programs terms, updated February 2026, say Kickstart closed to new subscribers on 9 June 2025. Do not plan on it. Until required verification is finished, new Gigs stay out of the catalog.
Seller Plus is optional. It is not required to receive the 80%. Fiverr's Seller Plus page lists Standard at $25 a month from Level 1, and Premium at $49 a month from Level 2. A brand-new seller cannot join either. Both shorten clearance, which is covered below.
Fiverr Ads are optional too. They are paid per click.
A card added so the same person can buy Gigs is not a seller fee. It also cannot receive a withdrawal.
Follow a $100 order to the $80
Take a Gig priced at $100. That $100 is the order amount the seller set. It is not the buyer's checkout total.
The buyer pays a service fee on top. Fiverr's billing help describes it as 5.5% of the purchase, plus $3.50 on orders under $200. Fiverr's client guide says 5.5%, plus $3 on orders under $100. Those pages do not match. The amount on the payment screen is the one the buyer pays. Either way, that service fee is not deducted again from the seller. The seller still starts from the $100 order.
On that $100, the 20% seller fee is $20. The revenue shown for the order is $80. How Fiverr payments work from there is a wait, then a withdrawal. The $80 is not in a bank on the day the order completes.
Clearance is 14 days, or 7
Fiverr's order guide says revenue becomes available 14 days after the order is completed. For Seller Plus, Top Rated, and Pro Talent freelancers, the clearance period is 7 days. The shorter period is tied to those programs. A new account on the standard plan uses the 14 days.
The clock starts at completion, not at delivery. After the seller delivers, the client has three days to respond. On a Gig that includes shipping, that response window is 14 days. If the client does not respond in time, the order is completed and clearance begins. A client who accepts on day one starts the hold on day one.
Early payout is a separate option, not the 7-day rule. Fiverr's early payout page says it is available to Top Rated freelancers and Seller Plus Premium members. Fiverr's eligibility checks decide how soon it unlocks: right after completion, after a week for an eligible Level 1 Premium member, or after 48 hours for an account that does not meet the checks. The fee is 1% of the earned revenue, so 1% of the $80 is $0.80, not 1% of the buyer's checkout total. Hourly orders are not eligible, and auto-completed orders qualify only for Top Rated sellers. Early payout only marks the earnings cleared. A withdrawal is still required, and Fiverr says eligibility can change from day to day.
Withdrawals, and what reaches the bank
The $80 can be withdrawn once it is available and a payout method is on the account. Fiverr requires age 18 for a withdrawal. Starting as a student covers what that means under 18. From 13 to 17, the account has to be owned by a parent or guardian, and the withdrawal goes through that account. Each payout method can be linked to only one Fiverr account.
Fiverr's withdrawal page, checked on 1 November 2026, lists the main routes as follows. The Fiverr Revenue Card is not a fourth route for a new seller: Fiverr discontinued it in December 2022, and it remains only for existing cardholders.
PayPal: up to 24 hours, a $0 Fiverr withdrawal fee, and a $1 minimum. On the $80, the amount leaving Fiverr is $80. PayPal can still apply its own conversion rate and fees. The first PayPal setup and the first withdrawal are done on a desktop browser, per Fiverr's PayPal page.
Payoneer account: up to 2 business days, a $3 fee, and a $10 minimum. On the $80, $77 leaves Fiverr and lands in the Payoneer balance. A later move from Payoneer to a bank is Payoneer's own transfer, with Payoneer's own fee.
Bank transfer through Payoneer: 1 to 3 business days for a local-currency transfer, or 5 to 7 business days for a USD wire, and a $20 minimum. Fiverr's withdrawal page lists this fee at $1. The Payoneer setup page lists $3 for a local-currency transfer and $1 for a USD wire. Use the fee on the confirm screen. At $1, $79 of the $80 leaves. At $3, $77 leaves.
In Pakistan, Payoneer can receive a Fiverr payout, and PayPal cannot, because PayPal does not offer receiving accounts there. The best platform for beginners in Pakistan covers the local setup.
A withdrawal is capped at $5,000 per transaction, and it cannot be reversed once it starts. Three waits sit on top of clearance: 24 hours after the first withdrawal, 24 hours after a payout method is added or changed, and 48 hours after the verified phone number is updated.
How to add a payout method on Fiverr
A payment method and a payout method are not the same control with two names. A payment method is the card, balance, or other option a buyer uses at checkout. It is stored on Billing and Payments. Fiverr's withdrawal help says a payment method added on that page cannot be used to withdraw earnings. Sellers who open Billing to "add a bank" are on the buying screen.
The payout method is added from the Earnings page. Only one Payoneer option can be active at a time: a bank transfer, a Payoneer account, or an existing Revenue Card. PayPal can sit alongside a Payoneer option. The same PayPal or Payoneer account cannot be attached to a second Fiverr account.
The steps below are the ones on Fiverr's payout help, checked on 1 November 2026:
Open Earnings from the business item in the account menu.
Select Manage payout methods, or Withdraw balance and then Add payout method.
Finish the phone verification Fiverr shows.
Choose PayPal, a Payoneer account, or a bank transfer through Payoneer. Skip PayPal where PayPal cannot receive funds.
Choose the withdrawal currency and save it. On Payoneer, that currency choice stays until the method is removed and added again. PayPal currency can be changed from the method menu.
For PayPal, sign in to a verified PayPal account and confirm the link. For Payoneer, open the setup email, then sign in or register.
Wait 24 hours after the method is added before the first withdrawal.
The confirm screen, not the Gig price, is the amount that moves. For the $100 order, that screen should show the $80 after clearance, minus the withdrawal fee for the method selected.
To set a Gig price that still pays after the 20%, use the freelance rate calculator. Upwork takes its fee differently; see Upwork fees and what freelancers earn.
